Theatre Lunatico directors, Tina Taylor and Michael Barr, are available to teach a variety of classes and workshop to both professional actors and youth aged 8 and up.

Tina Taylor, Artistic Director

Tina holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Dramatic Arts and Dance from Leeds University, England. She has taught theatre and dance both in the UK and USA in universities, schools, prisons, youth detention centers, housing projects, and with service organizations, including domestic violence prevention groups. Tina has also worked with military veterans. She is currently a teaching artist at Cal Shakes and Marin Theatre Company, and also works independently with local school foundations, including the Kiddo! and Yes Theatre programs. She teaches acting classes in method acting and improvisation, and also Shakespeare (text and performance), physical theatre, voice, movement, and poetry.

Tina is also available to provide customized workshops in self-healing and conflict resolution.

Tina has trained and worked with many internationally recognized theatre practitioners, including Augusto Boal, Christina Castrillo, Nigel Charnock/DV8, Helen Chadwick, Nic Fine, and Hugo Medina.

Tina’s dance training has encompassed ballet, contemporary, jazz, kathak, flamenco, ballroom, folk and traditional African dance.

Michael Barr, Assistant Director

Michael Barr holds an MFA from Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University and BFA from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design’s Greer Garson Theatre Center.

He has worked as an actor with Theatre Lunatico, Porchlight Theatre, TheatreFIRST, Pacific Alliance Stage Company, and Crowded Fire Theatre Company, among others. Michael has worked in Theatre Education for Marin Theatre Company, Berkeley Rep’s School of Theatre, Stage Wright, SF Shakespeare Festival, and Willows Theatre, among others. He has guest directed for Cinnabar Theater’s Young Rep, Lincoln Theatre in Napa, and Miramonte High School. Michael created the Education Department for Napa Valley Repertory Theatre, was the Drama Instructor at St. Vincent De Paul High School in Petaluma for 8 years, and currently teaches for Ohlone College Theatre Department.
