Theatre Lunatico’s artistic director, Tina Taylor, is working on establishing a San Francisco bay area Women In Theatre (WIT) Initiative. The aim of this project is to:
1. Monitor and discuss harmful sexual stereotyping in non-AEA theatre productions.
2. Establish an anonymous complaints procedure for reporting incidents of sexual harassment experienced within the non-AEA theatre community.
3. Bring together an advisory panel to create and implement procedures for addressing complaints of sexual harassment within the non-AEA theatre community.
4. Facilitate workshops to explore the issue of sexual harassment within the rehearsal process, and provide written guidelines for directors and production teams.
We are currently forming an advisory panel made up of Bay Area theatre members.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 15th at 7:00pm.
Workshops exploring issues of sexual harassment will be available in 2018.
If you are interested in becoming involved with this project, or are interested on our sexual harassment workshops, please contact Tina Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to her experience leading theatre workshops, Tina Taylor is also a trained domestic violence crisis worker and has facilitated workshops with domestic violence training programs.
